Act 1 Little nose Little hands Little feet Cosmic plans Little kisses Silhouettes Of tomorrow's Pirouettes Daddy's girl and Princess Sweet Mommy kisses Silken feet Promises Of God above Wrapped in hope And faith and love Echoes of The cosmic plans Held within Her little hands Footsteps of The Lord's great feet Heard within Her faint heartbeat Kiss her sweet and Kiss her twice Eleven years They must suffice Act 2 One day fairies Don't exist The real world calls From in the mist All must venture So she does Mist soon hides All that once was BFFs Begin to fight Teardrops falling In the night Simple things Are pushed aside Days with dad And friends collide Tea parties are Washed away Drowned in Life's Dramatic play Pick a part In Life's pretend Where the bad dreams Never end Princess dresses Slashed away The little girl Enters the fray Act 3 Pinch her stomach Comb her hair Nothing funky - How they'd stare Cinch the waistline Swing those hips Don't do school-work Read those scripts! Expect each guy To wipe his nose On her red heart – A soiled rose Baby kisses Baby hearts Stolen, given, Pierced with darts Hold your head up Do not slip Wear your costume Patch that rip! Just ignore The aching hearts Bleeding girls Torn torn into parts That is their role In this sick play Just keep pretending You're okay Act 4 Childhood seems A fuzzy dream Of Mommy's love And Dad's ice cream Of playing tricks Like hiding toys And never even Liking boys The days of kisses Oh-so-sweet Back to innocence's Retreat Life can not get Any worse Bang your head and Write free verse Even Act 2 Seems a joke Back when all you Drank was coke Hear commercials Try this trend! Smoke and hope It all will end. Look down upon Naive freshmen And think of just how Long it's been Act 5 Is still unwritten. Hope waits for her to grasp That God is always near her. Come up for air and gasp! There's hope for your tomorrow - Hope even for today. Take off that funny costume Get out of that school play! Sweet dreams and revelations Are waiting your return Seek out the One who loves you, And feel His desperate yearn. God thinks you're simply gorgeous Just pretty won't suffice; He killed His Son to heal you. He paid the highest price. Once in heaven, you will find Your fairy friends are real. Angels bright have guarded you Your whole life long with zeal. A golden crown is given you, Tiaras disappear. Childhood princess dreams become Genuine – factual – real. So drop that script – the nuisance. Let Him pick up the pen. Happily ever after... Become a child again. |
