Butterfly Blue
Deep within enchanted forest flew
Unto me a butterfly so blue
He lighted on the very top
Of my pale finger, to a stop
Came the crystal wings so I
Saw the dainty, curving sky
Written on his sweet wingtip so blue,
Like bluebells in the starlight 'neath the dew
Smiled, his eyes at me. Came down the light
Between the flick'ring leaves, like candlelight
And danced the rays upon my finger white
And on butterfly blue the changing light
Shifted like a blue kaleidoscope
That swirling deep within me lifted hope
From underneath the lighted wood
I ran down to a stream of Should
And tossed within it lighted fire
It licked the stream dry; I ran higher
Off to see the world in brighter blue
Hope has colored everything I do
Unto me a butterfly so blue
He lighted on the very top
Of my pale finger, to a stop
Came the crystal wings so I
Saw the dainty, curving sky
Written on his sweet wingtip so blue,
Like bluebells in the starlight 'neath the dew
Smiled, his eyes at me. Came down the light
Between the flick'ring leaves, like candlelight
And danced the rays upon my finger white
And on butterfly blue the changing light
Shifted like a blue kaleidoscope
That swirling deep within me lifted hope
From underneath the lighted wood
I ran down to a stream of Should
And tossed within it lighted fire
It licked the stream dry; I ran higher
Off to see the world in brighter blue
Hope has colored everything I do
